Frozen Shoulder, or adhesive capsulitis, is a general term used to describe all injuries that result in loss of motion to the shoulder. This is a very debilitating and restrictive condition, which affects all activities of daily living. Frozen Shoulder is characterized by: Loss of motion within the shoulder joint with difficulty in raising the arm above the head, across the body, or behind the back.
It is important to address the underlying cause for the condition; focusing treatment only on the area of pain often fails to address any mechanical issues and yields disappointing results.
Most conventional therapies are ineffective and slow to achieve results, with any type of resolution taking anywhere from twelve to forty-two weeks! Here at RAK our unique, specialized treatment protocols are very effective in treating and resolving this condition. We are able to achieve this because we look at the body as whole and correct the true, root cause. We take a direct approach in treating the shoulders joint capsule and its related soft tissues.
With the specialized treatments of Active Release Technique, Graston Technique, Kinesio Taping and the Chiropractic Adjustment the root cause will be treated and corrected.
Dr. Ryley is the only credentialed and certified provider any where in and near Rochester MN in these specialized techniques and services!!

The groin refers to the adductor muscles on the inside of the thigh. Groin strains are especially common in hockey (often occurring if too much force is applied during abduction; when the leg moves out to the side). The most common symptom of a groin injury is pain anywhere along the inside of the thigh. Trauma, uncoordinated movement or falls are common causes, but overuse and imbalance in the hip complex are usually underlying factors.
Lack of stretching, strength or poor mechanics can cause athletes to develop tight hip flexors (the muscles responsible for bringing the leg forward during stride). If the hip flexor is restricted and unable to do its job, the adductors will compensate by assisting in flexion. Overworked adductors can become tight and weak; tight adductors are more prone to strain because a tight and shortened muscle is a weak muscle making it less stable and less able to deal with stretching forces. The muscles in the back of the hip can also be a factor, if they are weak the hip flexors and adductors are forced to compensate. Tissues that are overworked are less capable of dealing with force and are more prone to injury.
Most groin injuries respond well to conservative treatment. An effective treatment plan should focus on restoring normal mobility, strength and flexibility to the entire hip complex. Overuse results in the development of scar tissue, which is less elastic and flexible than normal healthy tissue. A strain or pull will cause the formation of additional scar tissue in the area, impeding the normal function of the hip.

TECHNIQUES
Chiropractic joint manipulation or mobilization restores normal motion and alignment to the joints assisting in restoring proper mechanics.
Active Release Techniques (ART®) are effective in helping to restore function and elasticity to the affected tissues. It breaks up any adhesions and scar tissue to re-lengthen the tissues restoring range of motion. This technique specifically helps to restore tissue texture, tension and movement, along with the strength and flexibility of the tissues. ART releases any soft tissue restrictions and/or entrapped nerves.
Graston Technique® effectively breaks up any scar tissue and adhesions within the structures, bringing in a new blood supply of nutrients to speed up the healing process. The goal of Graston is to create an inflammatory response and allow remodeling to take over from this point.
Kinesio® Taping gives support and stability to your joints and muscles without affecting circulation and range of motion, while neurologically stimulating the healing process. Dr. Ryley is officially a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner!
The specialized treatments provided at RAK, when combined with stretching education and therapeutic exercises, are proven to reduce symptoms, restore proper biomechanics (through the CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENT), improve flexibility, and decrease the chance of recurrence while enhancing sport performance.
The doctors at RAK are the only certified doctors in these techniques within the Rochester area!!

Golfers elbow is similar to tennis elbow, except that pain occurs at the outside of the elbow. Repetitive strain is the most common cause of the condition, especially activities involving forceful wrist and finger motions.
The repetitive motion places stress on the muscles and tendons that control the wrist and fingers – resulting in inflammation, pain and impaired movement. The most common symptoms include pain, stiffness and tenderness at the inside of the elbow (pain often radiates down the inside forearm).
TREATMENT
Treatment should focus on reducing inflammation, restoring proper function to the tissues by eliminating restrictions and scare tissue, correcting movement mechanics (especially where the condition is related to a specific activity, such as racket or throwing sports) and restoring proper strength and mobility to the surrounding structures (including the shoulder, forearm and wrist). It is important to address the underlying cause for the condition; focusing treatment only on the area of pain often fails to address any mechanical issues and yields disappointing results.
